Cheese Pairing

Pairing Notes

A British Porter is any cheddar's best friend, with its rich notes of roasted barley, coffee and chocolate. These dark beers vary widely among countries that brew this style, so you may need to experiment to find your ideal.
But generally, an inviting toasted/coffee nose is followed by complex malt character, caramel/toffee, and maybe a hint of smoke, which all blend nicely with similar qualities in the cheese. This mature cheddar is intense—salty-sweet, with a nutty bite and lingering earthy flavours—and all those dark, rich tones in the beer make a perfect match.
