This Smoked Gouda is nutty and creamy, with prominent smoke. A formidable amber or dark ale should be able to temper the smoke while enveloping the cheese's buttery texture with caramel/toffee flavours, light toast and fruity sweetness. American amber and dark ales may have pronounced hops, but if that is to your liking, give them a try.
