With its creamy, salty, nutty flavours and crumbly texture, this cheddar has the complex aged qualities that create delicious flavours when paired with beers of similar complexity and heft. Vienna lagers have distinct malty qualities, slightly sweet with a nice bitter finish. Often a bit earthy too. The Vienna lager adds a bit more hop zest.
